Refurbishment

Randall Orchard Construction busy plastering!

Scarth Hall underwent major improvement works between March 2016 – September 2016, funded by Big Lottery grants of almost £500,000. Smaller grants from Northumbrian Water and Durham County Council covered the cost of new lighting down the side of the hall, and wheelchair/buggy ramp access. The refurbishment and improvement work includes:

Facilities: sound system, cinema, TV screens, IT suite, broadband/wi-fi
Accessibility: ramp access for wheelchairs and buggies; stairlift
Building: new roof, insulation, replacement windows, heating system, new kitchen, flooring, staircase

The huge amount of work that has gone into this project, and the many hours of time readily given by an army of volunteers, really do make Scarth “a hall for all” with something for everyone! More volunteers are always very welcome – see Support Scarth Hall for inspiration!
