Friday 7 September: Staindrop open mic night – all performers and listeners welcome, 7.30 pm/8.00 pm start.
Saturday 8 September: Last Night of the Proms event Doors & bar 6.30 pm. Come and enjoy the world’s greatest classical music festival in the relaxed atmosphere of Staindrop village hall where Last Night of the Proms will be broadcast via the Scarth Hall cinema. Your ticket includes a pie & pea supper (there’s a vegetarian option available) and live music from the D’ukes of Scarth house band while we wait for the BBC broadcast to begin. We’re offering prizes for the most interestingly-dressed person (although fancy dress is optional) and there’ll be more details nearer the time! Friday 21 and Saturday 22 September: The Mysteries – Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester have created a cycle of plays about six locations – one of which is Staindrop! Rehearsals are taking place at the Hall 18-21 September and some of these will be open to the public; performances on Friday 21 and Saturday 22. Tickets news and details out soon.
