Volunteer opportunities

Scarth Hall and all its facilities, and the events and activities taking place here, rely on a fantastic team of volunteers who make things happen and look after the day-to-day running of the Hall. Our wonderful volunteers, and the time and talent they give so generously, are right at the heart of Scarth Hall and its role in the community …… thank you!

We have regular Task Group meetings where volunteers, Trustees and staff get together to plan and organise events and activities and cover Hall administration and maintenance. You can be involved as much or as little as you like, and all ideas and input are welcome. There’s no need to come to every (or any) Task Group meeting, and you can keep up-to-date via the Hall’s noticeboard, this page, and the meeting minutes.
Volunteer opportunities
For regular/straightforward events (such as the Tea Dance, Open Mic Night) please use the Volunteer sign-up sheet on the rear noticeboard of the Hall. If you can’t get to the Hall but would like to put your name down, just talk to the event organisers – email us if you’re not sure who to contact.
For one-off/more complex events there will be a volunteer rota on a separate sheet on the rear noticeboard. We usually start off these rotas at the Task Group meetings  but there’s no need to come to a meeting in order to get involved (unless it’s for training or something specific to an event). Just get in touch with the event organisers and let them know you’d like to help out.
Online versions of the rotas are below but these may not be 100% up to date, for obvious reasons (people will be adding their names to the printed version) – we try our best!

If you know anyone who would like to be involved with Scarth Hall events but who may not see this page or the Hall noticeboards, please share this information with them – many thanks.
